Our 2016 In Photos
I know, I know. I’m a little late to the party but I have been meaning to sit down and finish this blog post for weeks. But in all honestly this is the first time I have properly opened my laptop since the New Year! I posted on my Instagram a couple of days back about how I felt like life had got on top of me lately and that I was feeling pretty overwhelmed with everything (my blog included!). So many lovely ladies took the time to comment and message me to reassure me that I’m not the only one that feels this way sometimes and agreed that it sounded like I needed to slow down a bit (thank you wonderful people of Instagram! <3). My body is definitely telling me I need to take it easy as I have been really suffering with pain in my pelvis over the last week or so this is a constant reminder that I really must slow down.
Alas, I wanted to do a bit of a round up of our 2016 and I thought the best way to do this would probably be in photos. Overall it was a wonderful year for us. It was hectic to say the least as Josh’s work load increased and I took on more collaborations here over on the blog which I really am so grateful for. But we also made lots of lovely memories in our down time too. We enjoyed a week in Greece with Josh’s family, visited Norfolk in the Summer, Josh and I enjoyed a blissful spa break in September and we rounded the year off with a week at Center Parcs too. 2016 also brought with it the exciting news that we were expecting our second baby and of course that will always be the highlight for us. Bella has grown so much over the last year and I can’t believe that at the end of this year she will be turning FOUR. She is a total diva and makes me want to pull my hair out on a daily basis with her endless sass but she is also the kindest, most loving little girl ever and I couldn’t love her more.
Bella isn’t the only one that’s grown this year though, as I’ve also felt like I have finally found myself too, as Harriet, rather than just a Mama. After having Bella I found myself feeling pretty lost, I felt like I didn’t really know what I liked anymore, what my style was or what my ambitions and goals were. But I definitely feel like I have rediscovered a few of my passions and found new ones along the way over the last year or so. I feel more confident than I ever have before and instead of always putting myself down, I have started to believe in myself a little more. By no means has this been an over night change, but I feel like during 2016 I have found my feet again and it feels so so good.
I can’t wait to look back again at the start of next year and see how much our family unit has grown over the coming 12 months. 2017 is going to be a life changing year for us and I’m so excited to document it all here on Life With Mrs Lee. My plan is to adventure more, to laugh often and to love hard.
